Planning

Script:

I didn't want my podcast to be completely scripted because I wanted to hear genuine opinions from my other host. I used my script more as a prompt ensuring that we'd cover all the theories however I didn't want to form our opinions.

After Stranger Things Script:

Introduction music fades in

Reese:
Hello and welcome to After Stranger Things. I’m Reese.

Liam:
And I’m Liam. In this podcast we’re going to discuss Stranger Things fan theories.

Reese:
So be warned spoilers ahead. But for those of you who don’t know fan theories are just
ideas about plots or characters that the fans of a show think of. To be honest with you
most of the time I don’t think they work it’s just fun.

Liam:
I find a lot of stranger things one's quite interesting especially because there's
just so much mystery surrounding the upside down and Eleven.

Reese:
So if you’ve been living under a rock stranger things is netflix original sci-fi drama

Reese:
Before we get started I just want to know what’s your favourite series so far?

Liam:
(answer and explain)

Liam:
Who's your favourite character?

Reese:
(answer and explain)

Reese:
So the first theory I found is so interesting.
Ominous music
Will created the Upside Down.
Music stops

Liam:
No that makes no sense.

Reese:
Listen so the theory says that Will has powers like Eleven but his brings his imagination
to life. Which makes sense because of how he’s always been connected to the Upside
Down.

Liam:
That actually does make sense.

Reese:
Like in the first series why is he chosen, Barbra bleeds but I don't think you ever find
out if Will got hurt.

Continue to discuss theory

Liam:
Ok so continuing with the theme of the Upside Down.
Onimous music
I found a fan that thinks that the Upside Down is the future.
Music stops
Liam:
Ok so basically the Upside Down is a future where the Mind Flayer has taken over the
world. That kind of explains why there's no life in the upside down.

Continue to discuss theory

Reese:
Ominous music
Eleven is going to be the bad guy in season four.
Stop music
This one actually comes from something the writing team said in an interview. So
basically the team was asked for any clues about the next series and they gave lyrics
to a Florence and the Machine song which tells the story of someone coping with the
loss of someone to darkness, and as a result, falling into the darkness themselves. Fans
have come to think this means Eleven spiralling after the loss of Hopper, and being
taken in by a dark side.

Continue to discuss theory

Liam:
So this is kind of two in one but.
Ominous music
Hopper's daughter is alive and is the American.
Music stops

Reese:
I never believe the whole Hopper's daughter is alive theory because I think it destroys
the Hopper and Eleven storyline.

Liam
Let me explain the theory first. The theory states that Hoppers daughter's death
was faked by Hawkins lab because she possessed powers similar to Eleven's. After her
faked death she was made to do similar experiments as we see Eleven do and whilst
exploring the Upside Down she got lost reappearing in Russia.

Reese:
I still don’t want her to come back, I feel like there's going to be a weird conflict
between them.

 Continue to discuss theory

Reese:
Ok so for the last theory there's isn’t really much to back it.
Ominous Music
But Dr Brenner is the American.
Music stops
So the theory is that he didn't actually die in the first series instead he fled to Russia
because he knew they were doing similar research. But they kidnapped him instead and
has been keeping him prisoner since.

Liam:
Do you actually see him die.

Reese:
No.

Liam:
So I guess no body no death.
 Continue to discuss theory

Reese:
So lastly do you think Hopper is alive?

 Continue to discuss

Reese:
So thank you for listening Bye.

Liam:
Bye.

Stranger things music fades in then out.

Additional sounds:

I want to start my podcast with introduction music that is the theme song from Stranger Things however I'm not sure whether I want the original song or a piano cover I found. By using this in my introduction it allows the listener to understand straight away that the podcast is heavily reliant on Stranger Things.

When stating my fan theories I want ominous music to play in the background to give the podcast more depths and make it appear almost comically tense. The piece I found creates a tense atmosphere quickly which is essential as I will only play the sound for around ten seconds. This was really hard to find because all the songs were long and slowly built tension.
