Idea

Ideas:

My first idea is to add Foley to a scene out of the series Thirteen a BBC Three show. I decided not to do a Foley scene however because within my lessons we already made a Foley product. Although I did enjoy making the product I wanted to try something I hadn't done before so I could broaden my knowledge. Furthermore I feel that because the project is sound based I wanted to focus entirely on the world of sound media.

The other idea I had was to make a podcast in which people discuss fan theories which have been made about a T.V show or film. My first idea is a podcast on Friends fan theories I thought of this because I'm very familiar with the show. However the idea of fan theories came from my obsession with watching fan theory and Easter eggs videos it's a topic I find very interesting because I find there's so much that goes unmissed by audiences. My next idea was to do a podcast on Stranger Things fan theories I really enjoyed this show and I constantly see theories about it. I felt as though I couldn't decide on a particular show to base on my podcast around without first researching both products to see which would be better.

Proposal:

Title:
After Stranger things

Idea:
I have decided to make a podcast about Stranger Things fan theories including an overview of the show creating some context. My target audience would be stranger things fans as it would be confusing and not very interesting if you was not a viewer of the show. From the website The Wrap I got the information that the shows age demographic ranges from 18-49 years. Within my podcast we will deconstruct each theory, talk about the possibility of them and whether each of us agree with the theory. At this point I believe my podcast will be around twenty minutes long however this all depends on how many theories I can get and how in depth we can discuss them. The genre would be entertainment it will also include some comedic elements overall I want the tone to be light-hearted. If I was to produce my podcast it would be available on YouTube and the podcast app so it's easily accessible to my audience. For my research I'm going to look into different podcasts to help me understand what makes podcasts work, I'm going to listen to them on my podcast app. Also for my research I'm going to look into fan theories for Stranger things fans and do background research on the show for context. I will also do a survey mainly aimed for Stranger things to see if the podcast would be something that interests them this will also help me to understand my target audience.

Content:
As a fairly conventional podcast I'm not going to have many sound effects however I'm going to use and manipulate the Stranger Things Theme song as intro music. Also when reading each fan theory I think it would add depth to have some ominous music play it would be ironic adding a humorous tone. My podcast will mostly be improvised with the script only used as a prompt I think this will be more authentic however if it comes across stilted in the test shoot I will consider writing a more detailed script.

Building it:
To record my sound I'm going to use a zoom recorder attached to a Rode microphone. To edit my podcast I will use the software Audition.
